The GLORYFIRE Elite Universal Gun Cleaning Kit is a strong contender among all-in-one kits.
What Works Well (Strengths)Broad utilityIf you own several different firearms (handguns, rifles, shotguns), the Elite kit covers many calibers. That reduces the need to buy separate cleaning kits for each firearm.Build qualityThe stronger rods and large number of high-quality accessories are a plus. The brass rods resist breakage better than cheaper ones, and the brush/mop sets seem substantial enough for repeated use.Value vs. cheaper kitsMany budget “universal” kits skimp in durability, include plastic jag tips, or use weak rods. This one seems to offer a noticeable step up. For those who clean often, the cost-premium may be justified.Good range of consumablesHaving lots of brushes, jags, cotton patches/mops, etc., means you have spare parts, which is nice. Also, the upgraded brush heads (denser) help with more thorough cleaning.Case and organizationThe storage solution helps keep things tidy. It matters especially when transporting or storing the kit. What to Be Aware Of (Weaknesses / Trade-Offs)Size / BulkBecause it includes so many pieces (rods, brushes, patches, etc.), the kit is not small. If you want something ultra-compact for range bag use, many pieces will go unused on shorter trips.CostBeing in the “Elite” or “Luxury” tier means it’s more expensive than bare-bones kits. If you only clean infrequently, or only have one gun type/caliber, you might not make full use of what you pay for.Learning curve / setupHaving many parts means knowing what brush / jag / rod length to use per firearm. It’s more to learn and maintain. Users unused to cleaning will need to get familiar.Consumables wear / replacementsBrushes, cotton mops, etc., wear out. Even though there are extras in the kit, eventually you’ll need more. Make sure replacements are available and reasonably priced.Rod segments and thread wearEven though the rods are reinforced, segmented rods (which screw together) are more vulnerable to thread damage or misalignment. Over time, threads could degrade, affecting fit or possibly causing small damage to muzzle/crown if not aligned well.No solvent / cleaner includedFrom what I can tell, the kit focuses on mechanical tools; solvent, oil, rust removers etc., are not always included (unless in versions that explicitly bundle “with oiler”) so you’ll need to supply those separately.GLORYFIRE®+1How It Compares / Practical UseIf you shoot often (especially rifles + handguns + maybe shotgun), this kit gives you flexibility so you won’t need a different brush for every gun.For someone with one or two guns of similar caliber, a smaller or more specific set might be more efficient. For example, dedicated kits for pistol only, or adding a bore snake for field cleaning may be lighter. In forum/reddit feedback, people tend to praise GloryFire’s rods and robustness compared to many “cheap universal kits.” For example:“The GLORYFIRE universal gun cleaning kit off Amazon is probably the only universal kit that isn’t crap. They actually use steel for the rod segment threads instead of brass like everyone else.”RedditBut some complaints arise around bent brushes (bronze) or fragile components among the accessory set. So handling and care still matter.VerdictIf I were you and depending on your needs:Go for it if• You have multiple firearms of various calibers to maintain• You clean regularly and want a kit that won’t fall apart quickly• You value having spare brushes / mops etc. so you can rotate or replace without ordering new stuff every timeMaybe wait or go lighter if• You only clean occasionally or have only one type/caliber of gun• You need something very compact for range bag or portability• Cost / upfront investment is a concernFinal ThoughtsThe GLORYFIRE Elite Universal Gun Cleaning Kit is a strong contender among all-in-one kits. It elevates many of the weak points seen in cheaper kits: better rods, more durable parts, more accessories. It’s not perfect, but in terms of build vs price, it tilts well towards the “worthwhile / long-term investment” side.If you decide to get it, pairing it with high quality solvents, oils, and occasionally replacing brushes/mops as needed will help you get maximum value out of it.If you like, I can pull up side-by-side comparisons with similar kits (Otis, Dewey, etc.) so you can decide which gives the most value for your setup.

Great Value, All the things you need in one full set.
Impressive assortment of brushes, rods, and pushers. This is a complete set of cleaning needs for the range. It comes with everything and in all Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun sizes. It is a really nice set with a quality case to keep it all organized. It also comes with a nice variety of patches to use.

How much better is a $70 gun cleaning kit? …..YES!
I typically will wait until my cleaning kit is beyond it’s last leg before heading over to the gun shop and dropping $25 on the next cheaply made basic cleaning kit. And it will typically take me 3 minutes while I’m stripping the threads on the plastic punch that doesn’t hold patches against the cheap aluminum push rod before I have regrets. Not this time. I asked myself “I wonder if the $70 kit is really THAT much better.Short answer, YES. It’s still just a gun cleaning kit. BUT, you can instantly feel the higher quality in all the components. The biggest win here: I can’t remember the last time I had an actual brass punch come in a cleaning kit. I don’t think I’ve ever had a brass jag. I actually still have a .22 brass jag from over 15 years ago. That’s how much better actual metal cleaning parts take you…. 15 years plus (or about 20x $24.99 basic kits. While a plastic case (which I think is fine for this application), the parts all have their own home, and they “snap” right into place securing the tool. This is 100% worth every penny!

Everything you need!
Everything you need! The crimp on the bore snake handle came undone after attempting to drag a full patch through a .22 barrel. Very high quality patches

Stellar customer support
Phenomenal customer support. While using it for the first time one of the rods and brush tips broke, could be because the rod is a bit flimsy or I was being too rough, either way I emailed the company and without any fuss they sent a replacement entire rod assembly, (mins you I only broke one piece, and also sent a set of brushes!! That’s crazy!! I’m a loyal customer now. Overall the set works great. Has all the pieces I could need.
