Bert is happy in his new place out on the patio (2 yr update)
4th summer update. Bertrand decided he wanted to come inside. The weather had finally gotten to him.I really should’ve put another coat of resin or some thing on him nothing last forever so it’s my fault. No real damage done just started to get pockmarks. A fresh coat of paint took care of it————————-Bertrand has weathered 2 winters now and is still in perfect shape. He continues to grace us with his presence on our patio in a position where we can revere him properly. We are so very pleased and blessed that he has remained with us!————————————————-This is the 2nd item from Toscano that we’ve gotten, and we’re even more pleased with this one. It’s a nice solid feeling piece. It has a lot of protrusions, of course, but they don’t feel fragile like they’d break easily. This is an Asian style dragon, identifiable by the longer, snake-like body. It’s actually not my preferred style, but he looked so good in the listing and was perfect size for a particular spot on the new patio, so I went with it. He did not disappoint and we’ve named him Bertrand. Bert for short.The listing said suitable for garden, and gardens are outdoors, so outdoors he will stay. We don’t have particularly harsh winters here, so I think I’m going to leave him out and see how he does. I’ll update come spring or if I have to bring him in, but I have high expectations. I looked him over quite carefully and found no flaws so I expect the resin will be sufficient.Happy to answer any questions I can.

If you love dragons, you need this! You will not be disappointed. I’m sorry I waited so long to purchase it.I have him among my flowers in the yard, I get so many compliments on him. It’s been a couple months and he is showing no signs of wear from the weather.

This thing is AWESOME! I thought it was going to be cheap and small. It’s highly detailed. It’s pretty big as in height and you can space it to make it look longer. I bought it to stay on top of pool fountain but pool isn’t done yet so inside it sits. It looks amazing. I may buy another one.

Everything I Expected
My Welsh-like dragon is a delightful surprise to visitors viewing my garden. Sweeping up amidst my Hostas he also may help deter deer. (At least that’s what I tell myself as mine were the last in the neighborhood to be attacked last year. Pepper spray may have also helped.) Dragon is below the HOA 2’ limit and the three pieces can stretch out his length by your choice of placement. I did paint the irises of his eyes day-glow gold which enhances the creature and catches any night light. Fun.

Nice size and weight
This dragon is the perfect edition to my riverbed walkway. It is the size I expected, a little bit lighter than anticipated, but still sturdy enough that it’s not going to be knocked over. I love that it looks like she’s coming out of the water.

It was big and stunningly detailed. I have had it outside for many years and it has not fallen apart or deteriorated. I would highly recommend this. If you have artistic skills and want to repaint it, it would look even more awesome.

Another great piece from Design Toscano.This dragon comes in three pieces, and you set it so it looks like it is swimming. You can place it in a flower bed or even indoors – it would look good in the bathroom.Looks to be a fairly classical, “winged serpent” style of dragon, perhaps with Chinese influences. I do wish DT would give a bit more information in their descriptions about their influences. Are these completely new designs or are they based on historical images. Hey ho.My granny told me that dragons were lucky, and she had several porcelain dragons about her home. I once asked her if this was a family tradition or some sort of local lore, but she told me she’d seen it in the movie, “The Neverending Story”. Sometimes it doesn’t pay to dig too deeply.
