Well worth it for a starter carbide set.
I had a starter set of lathe chisles which required frequent sharpening. I purchased this set to replace them. It was my first carbide tipped set. I’m very happy with the quality so far and the price was, I feel, very reasonable. If they break in future I’ll buy a higher quality set but for now these are great.

    Good Value
Very good first carbide tool set. If you want to try carbide tools without breaking the bank. This is a nice set and the case is nice. Order the 11mm square carbide replacement, box of 10 .

    Good pricing
Of limited use, very sharp, they have their uses. I like the ability to have either length handle

    Love this lathe tool kit
This kit is great. I have used them for several months now and they are doing great. If I needed another, I would order it again.

    What’s the hype?
I have been turning for seven years using traditional tools. Thought I’d try carbide so I got this set and tried out the square rougher. It is a scraping tool and I got a typical scraping result. Just to make sure, I grabbed my cheapest Benjamin’s Best scraper and used it where I left off with the carbide. I couldn’t tell the difference. Then I used an even cheaper Harbor Freight spindle gouge to make a slicing cut and, no surprise, got cleaner results. My conclusion: carbide cutters are supposed to save you time by not sharpening as often as you do with traditional tools, but you loose that time and more sanding out the torn grain produced by scraping. As for this particular set, I had the same issue as other reviewers and had to put lock-tite on the threads. The case is better than expected.Overall, if you’re looking for small scrapers, go ahead and order these…and lots of sandpaper.

Great starter set of turning tools
I found this set of carbide turning tools to be easy to use to get started lathe turning. I hadn’t used a lathe since grammar school, almost 50 years ago! Carbide tools have an easier learning curve, and are less expensive than HSS tools. They stay sharp longer. I found them long enough, comfortable, and effective. I’d like to get or make more handles so I don’t have to switch them when switching tools. But for the price, this is great.

When you hold these chisels you can feel quality .
The carbide lathe chisels are a great value. The 2 handles make it easy to use on a smaller or on my full size lathe. The carbide bits that fit these bars are standard sizes so are easy to find to replace. The carbide bits save so much time, time that you can use to turn instead of sharpening.

“I owned a mini wood lathe that came with a low-quality tool set, which was barely functional and discouraged me from using it. To create cups and bowls from wood sourced from a tree removed in my backyard, I purchased this new set of lathe tools. These tools performed exceptionally well, delivering smooth, easy, and fast cuts. I enjoyed about an hour of use before the lathe itself failed. Despite the lathe’s issues, the tools were impressive.” They are sturdy, with an adjustable length, making leverage very controllable
