Heavy duty, new construction, recessed, light mounting plate!I plan to use these in my basement and in my garage, where I do not have drywall to clip the lights to. My electrician said that he can just cut little wood blocks to attach the lights and junction boxes to, but having these will save time and labor.Technically ceiling lights have to be supported by some thing that is attached to the structure of the house, and not just the drywall, but that code was written long before the super lightweight practically Styrofoam LED wafer lights we have now. This means that most electricians and Code Enforcement officers will not give you a hard time about simply clipping your lightweight waver lights directly to the drywall, and you will pass Code inspection and get your certificate of occupancy without these. They may not even check or look. If you live in an area where Code Enforcement or electricians are extra fussy than you might need these. If you are already living in your house and doing a renovation without an electrician by yourself and you’re mounting very lightweight lights to drywall ceilings, you definitely don’t need these. If you were mounting lightweight LED wave lights to an unfinished space that does not have a drywall ceiling. Then you need something like this to hold them up.

So easy to install! This mounting plate is a game charger! It can be adjusted for 3, 4 or 6 inches round recess lights. These mounts are for flat clip on recess lights. It is designed for new construction and better used for clip on lights. Great value!!

Work great for roughing in canes pre drywall. Just knockout the size you need and screw the bracket to the stud. Easy!

Versatile
These are steel rough in plates for the small led lights. They are a newer style replacing the larger recessed cans. I was slow to adopt this idea but I will never go back now. These are steel and just thick enough to hold tight without being overly thick and adding unnecessary weight. I like the knockouts for different size leds and they pop out pretty easy. It’s nice they come in large packs as nobody ever really just needs one or two of these. Nice versatile rough in.
