Well written
Haven’t started yet, but anxious to try the recipes. Very much appreciate the index. There is so much information and even though I use bookmarks and highlights extensively, sometimes scanning the entire book looking for a specific recipe is time consuming. Also love the mantraI hope a lot of people read and apply the principles put forward by the author. I can say that as a 70 year old woman, I was an environmentalist before we even had a name. We were just considered weird and drama queens; tree huggers. I am proud to be a tree hugger and intend to utilize this information to continue to reduce any negative effects I may have on our precious planet.

A fascinating book!
Give this book a chance and it will provide you with some wonderful ideas on homekeeping, ideas I haven’t found anywhere else. Her walnut oil wood polish is the best of its kind in my experience, and she has persuaded me to phase out my use of microfiber cloths starting now! Read what she has to say on that subject and you’ll be likely to agree.She does write as if her readers know nothing at all about organic cleaning, which is a big mistake in this day and age. And the book, sadly, is cheaply produced with pages loosely stitched together in a way that means they just won’t last. But it’s worth the poor production to learn about some excellent, pleasant to use, and surprisingly effective cleaning supplies you can make yourself. No exotic, expensive ingredients and they smell wonderful!I

Cutest little book + no chemicals! It’s great!
This is a cute little hardcovered book. Perfect reference and inspiration to clean. I never clean as much as I should (besides wiping up here and there and vacuuming once in a while). I do not like caustic, toxic chemicals in my house because I get hives. This book was the perfect answer to that. She uses all natural items and essential oils to clean. Gives tips on stains and other cleaning challenges. I enjoy looking through it for more ideas all the time. She goes into great depth about cleaning things I never thought of.

If you want to avoid harmful chemicals in commercial cleaning products, you’ll find this book very helpful. The ideas in here are better for your health and your wallet, so I’ll be reaching for this book often.

Spring cleaning is around the corner and I wanted to stop using commercial products because of their many harmful ingredients and overpowering fragrances. Photos that almost give you goosebumps for this natural, old fashioned kind of girl! Warning: I went and bought a few hundred dollars of equipment after reading! A metal bucket, metal dustpan, wooden broom, non-microfibre dishcloths, Castile soap, glass spray bottles etc. So happy to have fewer, better quality cleaning essentials that make me feel good and will last. The book totally changed my outlook on home-making as a privilege to serve others.
