Simple, reliable peace of mind
This alarm system is easy to install and operate, and provides tremendous peace of mind. I love the app, customization options, and ability to monitor everything from anywhere. Professional monitoring is also pretty cheap when compared to traditional alarm services and modern competitors. All together, I would give this Ring system more than 5 stars and have recommended it to friends, family, and neighbors.A few weeks after I installed the system, a guy tried to come into my house when I was home. He tried multiple doors in the span of about 30 seconds while I happened to be working from home upstairs. While my doors were locked and he didn’t force entry after finding the door locked, it was still highly reassuring and helpful to have Ring provide instant camera alerts of his presence, be able to download and share videos of his attempted entry with the police, and be able to monitor my house real-time afterward with the app.Every day I tell myself how much I love this alarm system and feel better having it. Wish I had gotten it sooner!

An Easy, Simple and Reliable Alarm
I was hesitant at first, it seems like a pretty involved task to set up all the sensors. There is a slight learning curve but by the time you have set up a couple of the sensors you realize it only takes a minute or two for each one. Probably ended up being really easy and quick. The system is intuitive, and each device can be given any name you want, and the settings are simple to go through. I realized early on that RING gave a lot of thought and smart engineering into their systems. The quality is top notch, and you don’t have to go hunting for batteries. Also, when you buy a system from RING all the sensors shipped with the base station are “pre-registered” with that base station making install really fast.Update: 1 week later: absolutely love the system. Accidentally set off our smoke detector (burned a pizza). The Ring listener responded within seconds, and Ring alarmed immediately. The Ring Monitoring Center literally called within 19 seconds and I was able to cancel the alarm immediately. Resetting was the simple step of pressing Disarm on my iPhone. This system is everything it says.

Easy setup, includes all you need, works with other ring and Amazon devices.
It’s been two years since I purchased this, great system, sensors are sensitive and accurate, the app works really well, you can program schedules for automatic arming and disarming, vacation modes, etc. Pairs with ring cameras for added security and insights, Amazon thermostats, dorrbella and chimes. The Alexa functionality could be better, you can turn it on and off but sometimes Alexa doesn’t understand the commands.

Inexpensive and great starter kit. Mostly perfect, and very quick/responsive to app.
It’s cheaper than alternatives, and offers compatibility with non-ring smoke detectors. This alarm is very fast to alert me, basically instantaneously. This is in contrast to my Nest doorbell camera, which takes a very long time to alert me, or to connect thru its app (the doorbell ringer is often gone by the time I accomplish it). The Ring system so far is very quick and easy. I would say, if installing around a prior setup, look out for old/hidden sensor magnets as these gave me a bit of inconsistent difficulty when installing the Ring sensors on windows. Also, I do wish I could buy replacement sub-parts because sensor placement is a learning process and adhesive-backed things sometimes could be moved or straightened better. They do offer a screw-type mounting option (don’t remember if they included screws but those are cheap/easy to source if need be). A learning process but the system was easy to install, and I also appreciated that the components in this kit were pre-registered to the system which meant no need to pair manually. A bit of confusion when I added smoke/CO alarms, as they showed up as double devices and I’m not sure if that’s correct or if it’s just registering the smoke and CO alarm functions as separate sensors. Pretty slick and works much, much better than the ADT system it replaced. And much, much, much cheaper than that. The ring system also has an inexpensive optional monitoring plan, which I use and which has worked fine. That Ring monitoring plan does not play games with contracts, and this is a refreshing change from ADT. I bought far more sensors that I needed mainly to replicate functionality I had with my old wired system. In retrospect I would have been OK with a smaller kit, and a couple additional motion and/or glass break sensors – moving from wired to wireless solves a lot. Range of the sensors is adequate, but I also have an Eero 6 pro 3-pack blanketing my residence with Ring-compatible z-wave…but the included extender is probably a great addition for most homes that lack Eero). I did not find value in the Ring starter bundle with the Eero as I already owned Eero!
