Beautiful and sturdy, but there’s a smell
Pros• Beautiful color and design• Sturdy but not too heavy to move when cleaning, etc• VERY easy to assemble!!! Way easier than a lightweight (7-lb) shower chair I assembled recently. I’m weak and unwell, and it took longer for me to unbox it (~15 minutes) than to assemble it (~10-15 minutes) and bag up and dispose of all the packaging (~20 minutes). This was one of the easiest Amazon purchases I’ve ever assembled!Cons• There’s a terrible smell. This just arrived today, and something smells like chemicals, gasoline, or something toxic. The box arrived early just as a torrential rain started, so with the box all wet, I couldn’t tell if something (diesel?) had spilled on the outside of the box during shipping or if the table’s outgassing some harsh chemicals. That said, I gave the table a good cleaning, the packaging’s outside now, and the air purifier is on full blast, but the smell’s still in here, so… I suspect it’s the table. But I’ll try to update this review regarding the smell after a bit more time passes.Neutral• There are quite a few intentional, deep distress marks on the top (see picture; and excuse the too-small rug while we await the right size). The distress marks add character, and they’re placed symmetrically, which my brain likes. But, given their depth (and roughness), they’ll collect dust and gunk over time. Not too big of a deal for me because I’ll be covering the top with a clear cover to protect it, but it’s worth noting.Value: I feel it’s worth the $189 I spent. And now there’s a $15 coupon on it, so I’m bummed I missed the coupon offer but still think I got a solid deal (as long as this smell doesn’t linger and isn’t toxic).Overall: Depending on the smell issue, I’d consider this company again, given the price, sturdiness, and beauty of this piece.
