Easy to install and good tech with customer support which is an important feature for a home security product. I used the system for 2 years without issue until receiving a random $75 dispatch fee 3 weeks ago. Since then I have had 4 interactions and spent over 4 hours of time with no resolution. First contact was unable to help and advised me to call back. Second interaction, after sitting on hold and speaking with multiple representatives, it was confirmed that no service had been dispatched, I was told that a refund would be provided and received an email to confirm. Two weeks later with no refund, I called back and placed on multiple holds lasting 20 minutes each, only to be told later that no one was available to assist and to call back again the following day. When I asked to cancel, I was placed on long hold and transferred again. This representative was hostile and told me the previous representative advised him that I wasn’t interested in a resolution. I completed cancellation and went back to my previous service provider. It may cost a few bucks more but at least they seem to care about their customers to provide capable service providers who follow through. Proceed with caution if you’re thinking about purchasing a system with SimpliSafe.

Good system, works really well, easy installation
So far so good. I use these on all doors and windows so if someone breaks into the house, either these will sound off or the motion sensors will (also by SimpliSafe). We have one entry sensor that is occasionally saying it’s connected, not connected, then it reconnects. Not sure why this one acts up and the others do not. Good customer service so I’ll give them a call on this one. We’ve been using SimpliSafe for a few years, and even have their subscription plan. Husband set the alarm off this morning, forgot to turn it off, and it was one of these new sensors that is on the front door. Installation was easy, don’t have to have them touching, just within a 2″ area. Most of ours are about 1″ and work perfectly. I was able to disarm the system once hubs set it off by using the remote. Good system and we’re happy to have it.

Still Not Ready for Prime Time
When we put in the Simplisafe alarm system six years ago, I had high hopes.Installation was easy; operation is easy thanks to well designed menus and the suite of accessories allows monitoring of everything from intruders to a flooded basement. Unfortunately, the sensors can be problematic. Moreover, it seems as if the system was designed to have problems only in the middle of the night. Sensors lose contact with the base station, even when fresh batteries are installed. Entry sensors tend to fall off- especially the magnetic piece. That causes error messages and an occasion false alarm.This is a chronic problem that precludes us from subscribing to Simplisafe’s monitoring service. Fortunately, the ancient hard-wired alarm was never removed, and that is how we protect the premises.Maybe Simplisafe will improve reliability, but I am not counting on it. On paper, it looks like a great system.
