ecobee Smart Sensor – Works Great
The ecobee Smart Sensors hook into the app and ecobee thermostat super easy. Really little to no configurations at all, simply scan the QR code on the sensor and the app finds it and adds it to your thermostat. Not everyone needs additional sensors, but for me this was a must. The only thermostat that is installed is in the ecobee Smart Thermostat and it is installed in an area that does not see people cross its path very often. When it thinks that there is no one home it then stops heating or cooling to save energy (good thing). The bad part is when we don’t go past the thermostat it thinks no one is home and the house either gets super cold or very hot until we go past the thermostat or manually adjust in the app. With these little sensors, you can have them in areas that people are in and it registers that someone is home and keeps the Heat or AC running. Some people may say why not turn of the the ability of the thermostat so it just stays on. Well, that defeats the purpose of a smart thermostat, and I do want it to be able to automatically turn the heating off and on if we are really not at home.Overall these are great little sensors and I think very well designed. I’m am pleased with them and happy that I have purchased them.

Works great, even inside a fridge!
These sensors are awesome, and accurate. One is in my fridge, and my Exobee thermostat app displays the temp; it was hard to find a sensor that would work inside the refrigerator! All my sensors display on the app. Love it.

    Work exactly as advertised.
The Ecobee smart room sensors provide the thermostat with a window into the climate status within areas of your home that wouldn’t normally be controlled. For instance, if you place it in an office, you can see the temperature in the office in the Ecobee app. You can name the sensors whatever you’d like. The thermostat calculates the average temperature throughout the home using these sensors. It then uses the result to determine how much or little to control the climate in that room in order to keep it within the range set at the thermostat. In addition, it can tell if someone is using the room where it’s located in order to save power. Not in the room? Ecobee disregards the averaging feature for that room. Once someone enters, it begins again. They’re very easy to use. There is no need to turn them on or off. They are extremely sensitive and reliable, and they have a very clean design.

Good choice but battery or connectivity issue may happen
Loved these when i first bought them. My thermostat is on the second level and we sleep on the third floor so the temperature difference is about 10 degrees in summer. We wanted to make sure the upstairs was cool enough for us at night and this can be used at the temp beacon at times when you choose. Works great when it is working but when my power went out they had trouble reconnecting automatically. One reconnected well after a few attempts and the other did not. This was only two months after i bought them. Buying anew battery to see if that is the issue. Will update.

    Effective solution to temperature control
We had some trouble regulating temperature between our bedroom and nursery on our new Ecobee thermostat and AC replacement. This seemed to be an issue related to the location of the main thermostat. We tried these as a solution to even out the temperature and make the room temp more accurate. The smart sensors were easy to set up in the app. I verified the temperature readings with different high quality thermometers. The readings were initially not very accurate, but this normalized over about 1 day and then were extremely accurate versus other thermometers. The bedroom temperatures are now much more reliable and even after installing the sensors. In the Ecobee app, you can set it to use the average of any combination of smart sensors and thermostat. They are also relatively unobtrusive and have a sleek look to them. The size also makes them easy to place without being obvious.

Great once you get them set up properly
These things do a great job once you set them up properly. I thought mine was non-responsive for a while, but it just needed to connect with the base unit and download updates before it would start getting data in. I’ve got a multi-zone house but with the thermostats in the worst possible locations (all in one hallway, while two of the three AC zones don’t even have vents in that hallway) – and I love that you can disable the sensor on the thermostat, and rely solely on the remote sensors. So, now the AC doesn’t run forever when the doors are closed to the hallway.

Works Perfectly With My Ecobee Lite 3…
I thought these sensors were going to be hard to set up but quite the opposite. Very easy.1. You should already have the ecobee app. When you open the app tap the plus sign..top left corner and follow the directions.I like the option to wsll mount or set them on a flat surface. The stands are magnetic and the units come with a battery.I set up for the sensors to follow me and sense when the room is occupied. I got these on prime days for $20 off regular price.Definitely recommend them.
