So much good information!
As someone with absolutely no experience in design, this book was extremely helpful.It doesn’t exactly tell you what specific items to pick for a specific look you are trying to achieve, but it explains the “why” behind interior design choices. I found that information so much more valuable. I also already had an idea of the theme for our home though, so this definitely helped to narrow down which items within that theme would also be esthetically pleasing according to interior designer standards.The only downside that I can think of is that, because there are so many concepts in the book, I had to sometimes read sections in small increments to fully digest all the information. However, this isn’t really a “con.”10/10 would recommend this book to everyone!

Fabric on the front cover came worn out but ya know wabi sabi, lovely contents, did not want pictures and pictures of examples so I got this book that has more theory and sketches that actually teach good design concepts.

Amazing book! It is easy to scan and has lots of diagrams and pictures. I love how it really breaks down the logic behind the design elements. I’m respirating my entire home and I love that I bought a console table, was unsure how to decorate it, and the book broke down what kinds of set ups will give what kind of vibes. Helped me figure out the vibe I’m looking for and what to buy. Really loving this book and have already recommended it to a lot of people

I wish I had found this book years ago! I can tell if a room feels and looks good but I’ve never been able to clearly define why. This book does exactly that. It gives you the concepts you need to make a space beautiful with more than just instinct. The writing is so good! Clear, concise and concrete rather than the poetic prose a lot of design books have. And the best part is, you can use this information right away without buying anything. If you have a limited budget and want a home that feels comfortable and looks beautiful this book should be your first investment.
